Sherrill Park Staff InformationContact:Ronny Glanton The Sherrill Park staff consists of:RONNY GLANTON Ronny was elected to PGA membership in 1985. Ronny has been the Head Golf Professional at Sherrill Park Golf Course for 20 years. Elected to the highest award given to a golf professional in the Northern Texas PGA section, Ronny is the 2007 Golf Professional of the Year. His expertise in the management of golf operations for Sherrill Park encompasses daily operations, food and beverage, golf course and property renovations. A daily meeting with the head greenskeeper assures the quality of all 200+ acres of turf grass. Ronny is an accomplished player and teacher. His teaching philosophy is “ a good set-up will go along way”. Establish good fundamentals from day 1 and you will enjoy the game of golf for a lifetime. MIKE FOUNTAIN As a member of the Sherrill Park staff for more than 15 years, Mike has seen it all. Mikes current area of focus and expertise is Tournament Director and Merchandiser. Mike was elected to PGA membership in 1994. His teaching philosophy is “let the student know you want them to improve and encourage them to practice what they learn." DAVE HASSE Dave was elected to PGA membership in 1992. His tenure at Sherrill Park spans 13 years as an Assistant Golf Professional and now as the Director of Instruction for the Sherrill Park Golf Academy (powered by Titleist). Dave played high school golf at Lake Highlands High School, graduated and attended Richland Jr. College, where he played for 2 years. Dave has been teaching for the past 15 years and has a passion to see golf grow through introducing the game to New Golfers, their friends and family. Dave’s teaching philosophy is “from the green backwards”. Your short swings can tell you everything you need know about your long swings. One of Dave’s favorite quotes is by a well known instructor Harvey Penick, “If you play (or participate in) the game of golf, you’re my friend”. Ask Dave or any SP staff member about the HAWKS Junior Golf Team. KEVIN LIESENFELT Kevin was elected to PGA Membership in 2002. He has been in the golf business since 1992 and worked at the Columbian Club (now the Honors Club) before beginning his career at Sherrill Park in 2000. To achieve his PGA card he completed a golf professional training program that included testing in the areas of business, customer relations, club fitting and teaching. His teaching philosophy is positive reinforcement along with the fundamentals. His strong points are putting and short game instruction, all meant to achieve the optimum goal of course management. He enjoys working with golfers of all levels, from the beginner to the advanced player. JACOB HORTON Jacob has been in the golf business for 10 years. Up until the last eight months his golf experience involved improving the overall golf experience for the members of River Crest Country Club in Fort Worth Texas. Jacob is a strong believer in improving the game of golf through instruction and practice. His teaching philosophy is to help each student develop a plan to reach his or her goals in order to bettor enjoy the overall golf experience. RANDY BEARDSLEY Randy has been in the golf industry for 17 years. Providing exceptional customer service is routine priority. His teaching philosophy is developing good technique trough emphasizing a student's current skills and encouraging them to learn new ones. Gaining a "friend in golf" through service and instruction. Randy has been an Assistant Golf Professional at Sherrill Park since 2005 and is currently working towards his PGA membership. MIKE BERNEBURG Mike has been at Sherrill Park for the past three years. He is currently working towards PGA membership. Mike has established himself as one of the areas best instructors for beginning through intermediate junior golfers. Sherrill Park’s Off Campus PE program (which targets Junior High School age golfers) has grown tremendously under Mike’s direction. Assistant coach and staff member Randy Beardsley adds depth and commitment to this structured and fun learning experience. If you have a junior golfer in your family, Mike would love to meet you and talk about the great game of golf. Mike is prepared to share the same passion and knowledge he shows with his kids with you, your family or co-workers.. |
